Preface
Hi there!... and a friendly welcome at APACASTLE.
Who ended up here either had the intention, or it was pure coincidence.
All of you, however, I wanna invite to spend a good time here, poke around a bit and/or explore the story behind our name and what has actual developed from it.
Here you do not read anything about economic crises, wars, politics and other nonsense - just the mostly high entertaining report on how an "IDEA" now became "REALITY" .
Or other things which we have experienced ...
Enjoy, eh! Alex
The Genesis
In the beginning there was only the thought of creating a website to show the hole world pictures of our sweet, little daughter.
But what name to choose for the site? Nothing simple. Nothing ordinary. Nothing conventional. Nothing ... ! But what else?
So we spent hours inventing that name. The only really important thing, however, was to create a home for our little family, a place to relax and feel comfortable. An apartment, a house or perhaps a small castle.
Aaahh ... there it was! A castle! A castle for Alina, Pia and Alex.
Yippee-ya-yay "A P A castle".
Now, that's more than 15 years ago.
The Progression
Below the line nothing big has come out of the many fotos and ideas. The site remained a construction site. I rather spent the time with my dear loved ones than sitting in front of the computer and so there was not much more than the domain and the intention to create a webpage.
The years passed and the idea to build a small castle remained an idea. A dream. An imagination.
Till... 2009!
On a vacation trip with the mobile home through America and Canada, we fell in love with this area. And suddenly our idea jumps right on us. Here we wanted to build our castle. Only here!
But how?
Then I remembered a childhood dream. A life in a log cabin in the mountains. But my wife stopped me, thought I'm going nuts. "That's not feasible" she said.
So we spent a wonderful holiday, but the seed was sown ...
The Decision
Hardly back at home I browsed the Internet for ways to implement the new suggestion. Fortunately, I came across two websites that were the influence decisively now for all further considerations.
had already been fulfilled their dream and even built two indescribably beautiful loghomes. These all handcrafted!
As of now, there was no stopping. With the tongue of an angel and all my powers of persuasion, I made it clear to Pia that I will build a loghome in Canada. Despite all the skepticism she said "YES"and booked the flight to Canada!
Four weeks time for the search of our little piece of land...
The Discovery
As always, the stay in Canada flies like an arrow. We had looked at some beautiful land, but none would really fit. Our list came to an end - except for one last...
And then...
As in the movie...
According to the hackneyed saying: "Save the best for last!"
There it was!!!
Three days before departure to Germany we were there. A dream. A beauty.
And we bought it.
A part of the property. Left hand in the back will be the loghome. Still there are just trees...
Enough trees for the loghome and an additional pond.
The Project began.
